The British Marine standard contract portfolio plays an important role in supporting best practice across the leisure marine industry.
The latest review focused on several key brokerage contracts, with targeted updates designed to provide greater clarity and certainty for brokers and their clients.
Enhancements include refinements to provisions relating to survey-related sales and vessel movements, helping members navigate transactions with increased confidence.
The review process brought together legal expertise from HFW and valuable industry insight from the BRBA Committee, ensuring the revised agreements reflect both current legal considerations and the day-to-day realities faced by brokers.
Commenting on the project,
Having previously worked alongside British Marine to update its standard contracts for boat building and chartering, HFW are delighted to have collaborated on this latest project to update the standard brokerage agreements, which are of particular importance to members of the Boat Retailers and Brokers Association. As long-standing members of British Marine, we are committed to furthering the interests of the UK maritime cluster and see this project as another opportunity to help strengthen and advance the industry.
Ian Hughes Partner at HFWBritish Marine would like to thank HFW and the BRBA Committee for their expertise, commitment and support throughout the review process.
The updated brokerage contracts are now available to download from the British Marine website. Members can access the full suite of contracts here: Standard Contracts :: British Marine
