The Royal Motor Yacht Club are looking for a Boatyard Operative, reporting to the Haven & Yard Manager.

Situated within the beautiful Sandbank Peninsula the club offers excellent facilities overlooking Poole Harbour and Brownsea Castle.

The Marina & Yard comprises of two slipways a 112-berth yacht haven plus 125 swinging moorings. A launch service is provided to the swinging moorings.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out boat handling, boat lifting and blocking off, boat maintenance activities and ensure the Haven & Yard facilities are safe and well maintained and to provide an excellent service to club members.

Job Details:

40 hours per week based on a flexible rota covering some weekends. Market leading pay rates depending on experience.

Desirable skills

Experience within a similar marina business is desirable. The ideal candidate will possess a driving licence – with experience of towing and driving a tractor preferred.

Good communication – the role involves interacting with club members on a regular basis.

Confident with jet washing, anti-fouling and boat polishing.

Willingness and ability to complete manual handling and physical work in a timely manner.

Minimum RYA Powerboat level 2 qualification preferred.

IT literate, familiar with the MS Office suite, MS Outlook, and using a customer database.
