£36,732 - £41,450 per annum

Permanent 35 Hours per week

 

These are exciting times in the Lee Valley and with so many activities to choose from, the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA) lies at the heart of them all!  With a remit to provide a range of leisure facilities as well as protect and enhance the environment, we are currently recruiting new team members for one of our sites, Stanstead Marina.

 

Your duties will include:

  • To act in the role of a Duty Manager in all aspects related to the efficient running of the marina, including the supervision of Marina Assistants in their work and their work planning.
  • Whilst on duty to take responsibility for the safety of staff, berth holders and general public within the marina and its environs ensuring that a safe environment prevails.
  • To ensure employee compliance with the Normal Operations Procedures (NOP) and the Quality Management System (QMS) within the facility, including providing assistance in the implementation of these systems.
  • To provide input to site-specific procedures in relation to operations, Health and Safety, Fire Regulations, COSHH, Hazardous Waste, Environmental Incidents, etc. when appropriate.
  • To assist in the maintenance and control of the computerised systems of the Marina for day to day operations.
  • To assist in the maintenance and control of the Marina infrastructure, site areas, moorings, pontoons, buildings, workshops, plant and equipment.
  • To supervise the work of contractors on the Marina site.
  • To provide help, advice and support to staff at all levels in any matters which are likely to affect their standard of work.
  • To respond to and solve sensitive, difficult, or confidential issues as they relate to all employees of the Marina and internal contractors.

·        To participate in any discussion related to the successful management of the marina and the services provided.

 

  • Purpose of Role: The Engineer will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of craft.
  • Knowledge:  Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering systems and understanding of the requirements for marine engineering installations with good understanding of current marine engineering systems
  • Skills: Ability to safely use ladders, work on uneven levels and in confined spaces. Be able to safely use hand, power, and bench mounted tools and the ability to fabricate metal and weld desired.
  • Experience: Mechanical engineering installations.  Previously been in a similar role with proven experience in fault finding and problem-solving.
