End Point Assessment

British Marine End Point Assessment Organisation

End Point Assessment

British Marine is a recognised End Point Assessment Organisation currently on the Governments official register for Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR) offering end point assessment for a number of sector relevant apprenticeship standards.

We work closely with our training providers and employers to ensure a high quality, fair and robust approach to the End Point Assessments (EPA's) for all apprentices we assess.

The  service we offer has been designed to meet the needs of the apprentice and employer. We can carry out the assessment face to face or remotely, via Microsoft Teams on dates agreed to suit you and our robust registration, gateway and planning process for EPA, ensures  there are no surprises, and the apprentice feels as comfortable as possible going forward to their assessments.

EPA - End Point Assessment, the final assessments undertaken by an independent assessor employed by the EPAO - End Point Assessment Organisation.

The End Point Assessment Organisation is responsible for developing, delivering and awarding the end point assessments for the standards they are approved to deliver against.

We are an independent end point assessment organisation within the trade association of the UK leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry. To learn more about British Marine, please visit our About us page.

  • We provide a clear fee structure for all our standards, agreed with the training provider as part of our service level agreement together.
  • You have access to a dedicated support team for EPA, with our dedicated email: EPAO(at)britishmarine.co.uk and telephone number 01784223718 or 07584563285
  • There are no surprises, a full suite of resources is available for each standard to make sure that apprentices have the best opportunity to prepare for EPA.
  • Enjoy clear, open and honest communication from start to finish. We are always here for you and will endeavour to answer every question within the limits of our governing regulations.
  • As a not-for-profit organisation, we believe in giving back to the sector. We support celebration or apprentices, drive to promote apprenticeships in the sector through dedicated events.

  • Agree with our service level agreement to provide EPA services to you for the level of apprentices you are registering with us against the specific standards we offer.
  • Onboard the apprentices with us. Follow our simple guide to onboarding your apprentices onto our EPA learner management system and we will then send resources and information to the employers and apprentices straight away. Giving you piece of mind that you have everything at your fingertips from the start.
  • Planning Meeting, we hold a planning meeting with all apprentices, employers and training provider representative as soon as the apprentice is confirmed as entering into 'Gateway'. This meeting enables the apprentice to meet the assessor for the first time and ask any questions, for all of us to schedule dates every step of the EPA process and prepare the apprentice for what to expect from these.
  • EPA, the designated independent end point assessor (IEPA) will undertake the assessments with the apprentice. Our assessors are highly experienced and trained in both the sector specialism they assess and undertaking assessments.
  • Have all the support and guidance you need throughout the whole process from our dedicated team.
  • Feedback, we encourage two-way, open and honest feedback as this only strengthens our working relationships and enables us to offer a better service for you and the apprentices.
  • Celebrating apprentices’ achievements through the wider British Marine network and events. We like nothing more than to shout about how great you all are and the achievements within the sector.

We will discuss fees with you directly, however you can see the standard rates here.

In the first instance please contact the EPA Operations Manager, Tasha on njoyce(at)britishmarine.co.uk or 07584563285. Tasha will be able to support you through the process from there.

We currently use ACE360 as the platform on which the provider will register the apprentice to undertake EPA with us.

If you need help in the use of ACE360 please contact us on EPAO(at)britishmarine.co.uk, we will be happy to guide you.
