Meet the Designers
My name is Roman Aime, and I study Yacht and Powercraft Design at Solent University with the ambition of becoming a professional yacht designer. Having been immersed in boating and design from a young age, I am fascinated by how innovation can shape the future of life on the water. I am taking part in this competition to challenge myself, test my ideas and gain valuable experience through a brief that reflects the realities of the profession.
My name is Oliver, and I study Automotive and Transport Design at Coventry University. I have a growing fascination with the yacht design industry, and this competition offers an exciting opportunity to challenge myself while doing what I enjoy most: sketching. I look forward to learning from other designers, strengthening my creative and technical skills and refining my approach as I work towards a career in the superyacht industry.
My name is Adam Platt, and I study Automotive and Transport Design at the University of Staffordshire. I have always admired yacht design, particularly the sculptural elegance that defines these remarkable vessels. I entered the competition to explore the industry in a professional setting and deepen my understanding of how aesthetics and functionality can be brought together through thoughtful design.
My name is Maya, and I am studying for an MA in Interior Design at Kingston University London, having previously completed a BA in Interior Design in Korea. Throughout my studies, I have developed a strong interest in luxury interior design. I entered the Young Designer Competition to challenge myself, gain new perspectives and take a meaningful step forward in my journey as a designer.
My name is Charlotte Redfearn, and I study Automotive and Transport Design at the University of Staffordshire. For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by anything with a motor and have always loved creating. I entered the Superyacht UK Young Designer Competition to challenge myself, strengthen my design skills and continue developing as an emerging designer.
My name is Yuan Qi, and I am currently studying for a Master’s degree in Interior Design at Kingston University. I have a strong interest in yacht interior design and entered this competition to deepen my understanding of the industry while challenging myself creatively. I hope the experience will help me develop my skills, broaden my knowledge of yacht design and take an important step towards a future career in the industry.

This competition is an exciting opportunity to challenge myself and explore the highly specialised and competitive world of yacht design. My name is James Horrocks, and I study Automotive and Transport Design at the University of Staffordshire. I am returning to the Young Designer Competition for a second time after achieving second place in 2025. Competing again gives me the opportunity to build on that experience, further develop my skills and explore new ideas as an emerging designer. I enjoy creating yacht concepts that combine elegant styling, innovative layouts, adaptable spaces and light-filled interiors to deliver memorable experiences on the water.
