To kick things off, over the early May bank holiday weekend, the BM team visited the Jersey Boat Show. This was a great opportunity to meet with a number of members and non-members during the show.
“It was great to see the British Marine team present at Jersey Boat Show this weekend. Regional shows are an important part of the industry’s annual boat show calendar, especially ones further afield and Jersey certainly represents a different audience and environment to the main Southampton Show. So it is good to see a proactive presence by BM to gather feedback from these type of events.”
British Marine Member, Guy Adams of Wessex MarineAs well as visiting members and exhibitors, British Marine also hosted a networking reception on the Saturday evening which was well attended by a wide range of members and non members.
British Marine President, Robert Parton of Aqueduct Marina welcomed attendees, expressing the value of British Marine and the opportunities to work together.
Sarah Wallbank, CEO of August Race Group and Chair of British Marine South West, also took to the stage to promote the excellent work of the South West regional association and how members can get more involved.
“It was great to meet with the British Marine Team at the event they hosted at the Jersey Boat Show on Saturday 3rd May. The evening started with a brief overview of industry updates, then networking drinks and great conversations. A wonderful opportunity for Channel Island Members and visiting UK Exhibitors to meet in person with the senior British Marine Team and talk over current issues. We hope to welcome you back to the Channel Islands next year!”
