The Awards
During the event, several honours will be awarded to members of our industry:
- Business of the Year - This prestigious award celebrates a marine business that has demonstrated exceptional performance over the past year. Judges look for innovative product or service development, customer satisfaction, environmental strides, and leadership within the marine sector. The winner typically stands out for driving the industry forward, embracing sustainable practices, and demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a challenging market.
- David Coleman Excellence in Exporting - The award is given in memory of David Coleman, a very well-known personality within the marine industry and a highly active member of British Marine. In 1986, David Coleman purchased Barton Marine and transformed the company into a global brand. He inspired and encouraged many industry leaders to join him on the British Marine Export Committee.
- Young Marine Professional of the Year - This award recognizes an outstanding young person (typically under 35) who has made a notable contribution to the marine industry early in their career. It celebrates fresh talent, leadership potential, and commitment to personal and professional development. Nominees are often individuals who bring new energy, ideas, or technical skills to their organisations and the wider industry.
- Personality of the Year - This award honours an individual who has made a lasting impact on the marine industry. It recognizes outstanding personal commitment, leadership, and contribution to the growth, reputation, or wellbeing of the sector. Whether through years of service, mentoring others, advocating for the industry, or leading transformative projects, this person is seen as a respected figure and role model.
