The UK Department for Transport has launched a consultation to amend the Merchant Shipping (Watercraft) Order 2023, with the key aim of ensuring that accidents involving powered recreational vessels such as jet skis and other motor-equipped watercraft can be formally investigated by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB).
