Any water runoff, or liquid which is contaminated with antifoul paint, or cleaners which are non-biodegradable are classed as Trade Effluent. It is an offence to allow this to run directly into Sea, estuarine, fresh or canal water. Neither is it permitted to let Trade Effluent run into drains unless they are suited for this purpose. This applies to private individuals and commercial operators (solo or companies)
