Interior Design and Development Technician

Job Description

About Sunseeker International

Sunseeker was founded on a bold vision: to create a new kind of yacht and redefine what was possible on the water. From our earliest designs in 1967, we’ve pushed boundaries and reshaped the motor yacht industry through innovation, craftsmanship and relentless ambition.

At the heart of every Sunseeker lies a legacy of expert hands and meticulous attention to detail, skills refined and passed down through generations. These are the qualities that set our yachts apart - and the qualities that continue to drive our craft today.

In a world increasingly defined by automation, we remain committed to building hand‑crafted, hand‑finished boats. With over 1,800 talented team members across our busy shipyards - from long‑serving specialists to more than 180 apprentices - our Sunseeker workforce reflects the strength, diversity and pride of our local community. It’s this blend of heritage, skill and passion that makes our shipyards unlike any other place in the world.

Who We Are Seeking

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and technically confident Interior Design and Development Technician to join our Interior Design and Development team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys translating design intent into production‑ready outputs and thrives in a fast‑paced environment where precision, structure and teamwork are essential.

You will contribute directly to the delivery of Sunseeker’s interior design solutions by producing accurate drafts, supporting design-for-manufacture requirements, and ensuring data is processed and maintained to the highest standard.

A Day in the Life

Each day, you’ll work with Siemens NX and Teamcenter to transform Design for Manufacture (DfM) models into comprehensive drafts that meet manufacturing, supply, and production needs.

Your role will involve updating digital records, maintaining master drawing lists, issuing drafts and data to suppliers and internal systems and making incremental changes through standard engineering and quality processes.

You’ll regularly collaborate with colleagues across Design, Planning, and Production, ensuring Bills of Materials (BoMs) are accurate and that all work aligns with established Design Office protocols.

Key Responsibilities

·        Develop DfM models into suitable drafts aligned with manufacturing, supply, and production requirements using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

·        Update Teamcenter for relevant sub‑assemblies and maintain Master Drawing Lists.

·        Process and complete minor changes through DCR/ECR/QIP systems.

·        Release drafts and data to SAP and suppliers once approved.

·        Support the Planning team with accurate and maintained Bills of Materials (BoMs).

·        Follow all Design Office protocols, contributing to consistent and compliant workflows.

To Be Considered for This Job You Should

·        Hold a degree or diploma in Interior or Industrial Design (or have equivalent practical experience).

·        Bring experience in cabinetry, furniture construction, or interior build processes—ideally within the marine industry.

·        Have operational knowledge of yachts or powered craft (beneficial, not essential).

·        Be confident using 3D design software - Siemens NX is essential.

·        Understand CAD processes, design lifecycles, and design‑for‑manufacture principles.

·        Be proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.

Sunseeker employees benefit from

With 7 miles of golden sandy beaches, flanked on both sides by the New Forest National Park and the Jurassic Coast line, working in Poole for a genuinely premiere international brand offers an enviable opportunity to truly live the dream.
