British Marine hosts successful Propulsion & Equipment Networking and Social Event at Allianz Stadium
30 April 2025

British Marine was delighted to host the Propulsion & Equipment Networking and Social Event at the iconic Allianz Stadium in Twickenham.

The event brought together industry professionals for a day of insightful presentations, discussion, and valuable networking. Attendees heard from a strong line-up of expert speakers, including:

  • Graham Manchester, Compass Energy – presenting on the Distribution of Alternative Fuels, followed by a Q&A session
  • Charles Hansard, Chairman of the Propulsion & Equipment Association and Director at Westford Services Ltd – discussing Ultra-Fine Filtration of Fuel, Lubrication, and Hydraulic Systems
  • Ed Tuite and Joanna Richardson, British Marine – providing updates on Current Technical Issues and Decarbonisation
  • Simon Boyde, ePropulsion – offering insights into Electric Propulsion Solutions

The talks were followed by a relaxed networking lunch, served in the impressive surroundings of the stadium, offering our members the opportunity to connect and share industry insights. The day concluded with a private tour of the Allianz Stadium, offering a behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s premier sporting venues.

British Marine would like to thank all attendees and speakers for contributing to such a productive and engaging event. A special thank you to British Marine members, Honda Marine, who kindly donated their private box at the Allianz Stadium, helping to make the day even more memorable.

We caught up with some of the attendees to hear their thoughts on the event:

Lisa Harris – Shepperton MarinaA fantastic venue and a really engaging discussion on fuel. Graham’s insights on the future of fuel were especially valuable and will be incredibly useful moving forward.

Mike Cook (Co-Chair of London & Thames Valley Association) – Thames Boat House Ltd – The event was informative and engaging from start to finish. The discussions offered valuable insights into key industry challenges and opportunities. Ending the day with a tour of the stadium was a brilliant highlighta real treat that added something special to the experience.

Alex Firth – R&D MarineAn interesting and informative day in a non-marine setting, which made a refreshing change from the usual marine event venues. It was a great change of pace — while it would have been nice to have more attendees, the size of the venue made that impractical.
