Influence
We continue to seek to have influence in a wide variety of ways,
from briefing government agencies or key politicians on matters of
immediate concern to hosting hospitality events to build up long
term relationships. Each year we raise the profile of the
industry at the Party Conferences.
Politicians - we have developed strong
relationships, and awareness of the marine industry concerns and
successes, among relevant civil servants, MPs, members of the House
of Lords and MEPs.
Central Government - our lead sponsor
department is the Department of BERR, and our influence within
government circles is growing all the time. We have links in all
departments that have a significant influence over our member’s
