British Marine create and facilitate attendance at numerous oversea marine shows and events for its members. British Marine constantly monitor, target countries and emerging markets for business opportunities and the potential in assisting and supporting our members in exhibiting overseas. Working with the Department for International Trade there is also the potential for financial support in the form of TAP (Trade Access Programme) grants and Market Research Support

We are currently confirmed or planning to attend the following shows and events during 2020/2021:
Trade Access Programme (TAP) grants;
TAP grants support UK SME’s to enter new markets by exhibiting at overseas trade fairs promoting their goods and services to an international audience.
An eligible UK business is one meeting the EU definition of an SME (fewer than 250 employees; annual turnover not exceeding Euro 50 million; no more than 6 grants in a company’s life cycle).
Grants are aimed at less experienced exporters, defined either in terms of the company’s exports as a percentage of total sales or the company having been exporting less than 10 years.
The grant amount varies depending where the event is held. Events in Europe are eligible for grants worth £1500, USA £2000 and rest of world £2500.
This year British Marine have been allocated the following funding for 2020/2021;
- METS, 17th19th November 2020 40 grants worth £1500
- Seawork Asia, 24th-26th November 2020 5 grants worth £2500
- BOOT Dusseldorf 23rd-31st January 2021 12 grants worth £1500
Once a company has booked their stand space at an exhibition and believe they comply with the T’s & C’s they should complete the application form and send it directly back to Johanna.
Terms and Conditions
All applications will then be reviewed and processed by British Marine. Should the applicant be successful in securing a grant they will receive a confirmation email from the British Marine team. DIT aim to deposit the grant funds to British Marine within 8 weeks post show, British Marine will then transfer the funds to the company’s chosen back account.
Please note; TAP funding is in high demand and allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Should you be successful in securing a grant but cancelled your attendance at the event, you must inform British Marine at least 8 weeks prior to the show to ensure the grant can be reallocated to another UK company.
